D&L ELECTRICAL

MISSION STATEMENT

Our primary mission is to make your home, business or facility as safe and efficient as possible.

“The purpose of this Code is the practical safeguarding of persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity”.  This is the first Article in the National Electrical Code 2005, Article 90.1.  At D&L Electrical, we consider this to be our “prime directive” and regard our licenses as signifying not only that we are competent enough to be trusted by customers but that we hold a position of public trust.

Most structures in our area (Long Beach/Lakewood) were built prior to the 1960's.  Electrical systems of that time did not anticipate the sizes and types of loads that we now require them to supply.  For the most part, non-linear loads such as computer equipment, microwave devices, VSDs, PLCs and PCCs were virtually non-existent at that time.  Today, we see these devices in industrial applications and home use as well.  In many instances, this can result in unsafe conditions such as fire, shock and arc hazards due to overloading, wear and heat degradation.  Also, with today’s rising energy costs, these new types of loads, coupled with the inefficiencies of older equipment such as motors, heating appliances, switchgear and even circuitry can result in much greater energy costs than may be achieved with modern equipment and methods.  To address these problems, both at home and in industry, we employ a variety of tools and testing equipment to diagnose existing and impending problems.  We make recommendations to our customers with regard to repair, replacement, upgrade and/or retrofit of electrical systems to mitigate such problems.  Our goal is to increase the safety of persons and property while using electrical systems and decrease the cost of using electrical energy.
